Getting a good night’s sleep is a lot more than simply getting into bed and closing our eyes. The trick lies in getting our minds and bodies in the right headspace for a deep and restful slumber. For those of us who struggle with winding down before bed, Marks and Spencer has just released a brand new beauty edit designed to help us slow down and rest to get the best sleep we can.
Costing £30, The Unwind Edit contains high end products that help us relax, with brands inside including Emma Hardie, NEOM, Estée Lauder and more. While these brands usually cost a pretty penny on their own, this box allows shoppers to try out a range of luxury goods for way less as its value is worth around £142 (given that M&S claims its price tag is a 79% saving).
The brand explains: “Thoughtfully curated to support evening wind-downs, this edit brings together nourishing skincare, comforting body care and sleep-enhancing rituals.” And although it’s newly released, shoppers have already heaped praise on its contents, with one person sharing a rave review that read: “Loved it. Especially loved the pillow spray & Neom hand cream. Few products I’m yet to try but was impressed enough to purchase another as a gift. A great little new year treat.”
Inside the edit, which comes neatly packed into a purple box, shoppers can find an overnight lip mask, silk eye mask, relaxing shower gel, eye cream, body butter, overnight face oil, pillow sleep mist and a hair mask. With nine products inside, it essentially works out as £3.30 per product, which isn’t bad for such renowned brands.
Although if this set doesn’t quite tick the box, there are a range of other sleep edits in the market. For example, Next’s Ultimate Sleep Beauty Box, worth £138, costs £35 and contains names like This Works, Elemis and Bloom & Blossom.

Marks and Spencer’s The Unwind Edit contains nine different products to aid sleep.
For those happy to spend a little more, OK! beauty Box’s Limited Edition Sleep Better Box is worth over £245 and costs £60. It contains nine products, similar to M&S, with the likes of satin pillowcases, silk masks, a candle, overnight cream and more inside.
It’s important to note that many of the products inside M&S’ Unwind Edit are travel sizes. While some might prefer bigger items, minis are great for trialling new products before committing to full sizes. That being said, perhaps one of the most cost-effective products inside the set is the Bloom and Blossom AND BREATHE…Relaxing shower oil, which retails at £22 for a 100ml bottle.
Scented with frankincense, ylang ylang and lemongrass, it’s a lovely way to unwind before bed as it not only makes skin feel supple and soft, but its fragrance adds to the serenity. Shoppers who have tried this product say they now ‘can’t live without it’, with one person noting: “Indulgent smelling shower oil – great for some ‘me time.”
Elsewhere, the Hair by Sam McKnight Bigger Love Treatment Mask also costs £22 – £8 less than the entire box – and is formulated to help boost hair’s volume in as little as five minutes. Enriched with active ingredients, such as Volumnis, it works to strengthen the hair, repair split ends, and boost volume and thickness.
Also included is Pai Skincare’s Rosehip Bioregenerate Rejuvenating Overnight Face Oil, which works overnight to target the appearance of dullness, dryness, redness, fine lines, pigmentation, and blemishes. Costing £19, it claims to instantly nourish the complexion and leave a luminous glow. Rich in omegas 3, 6, 7 and 9, the formula contains 24% more polyunsaturated fatty acids which leaves the skin plumped up, moisturised and soft. In addition to this, polyphenols and antioxidants help protect the skin to leave it visibly bright and dewy.
One thing to note is that while the reviews of this product are glowing regarding its results, some people were a bit put off by the scent – one user noted: “I had high hopes for this oil but unfortunately it’s not for me. Like a few other reviews i really don’t like the smell, its very strong.”
