Anyone who shops at the supermarket could benefit from this offer
Martin Lewis has urged anyone who shops at Asda to consider signing up for an online offer that could save them up to £55 off their next shopping trip. The deal is set to end January 31, according to Asda, though Martin and his MoneySavingExpert team say it could end sooner, giving customers only days to act.
Shopping for food is not only essential, but it is getting more and more expensive amid the cost-of-living crisis and inflation. So, if shoppers can stand to make a saving without compromising on quality, it becomes a no-brainer to try.
Asda is running a limited-time offer that could help shoppers save up to £55 over the course of their next few supermarket orders. The offer, highlighted by Martin Lewis’ team of specialists at MoneySavingExpert, could run out days before the January 31 deadline set by the supermarket.
As it’s limited to the first 23,000 customers who use their code, the deal could end sooner. The deal encourages shoppers to make a minimum purchase of £60 on their weekly shop (excluding the delivery charge) and, in return, the supermarket will discount up to £20 off the final bill.
Some items will not count towards the overall total, including alcohol, tobacco, e-cigarettes, gift cards, baby formula, and stamps. Generally, almost everything else in the store is eligible for the £60 shop, but shoppers will want to take advantage and secure their codes before it’s too late.
How to claim the £55 off deal with Asda
To get the deal, start by registering with Asda for online shopping and opt in to receive marketing from the supermarket during the sign-up process. This allows shoppers to get their hands on a unique code to make the first of many savings.
If you’ve previously ordered from Asda George online, you can still get this deal, as long as you’ve never made a grocery order before. Shoppers have to use this initial code when paying for their online food order before 11.59pm on Saturday, January 31.
After that order is delivered, shoppers should check their inbox to get their next discount code. Each code will expire two weeks from the date it’s sent.
Overall, shoppers stand to make the following savings each time:
- £20 off their first shop over £60
- £10 off their second shop over £60
- £10 off their third shop over £60
- £15 off their fourth shop over £60
The deal stacks up as a major saving, as explained by Martin Lewis’ team. They said: “If you do all four shops, this essentially works out as £55 off £240+. You don’t have to do all four shops, so you could just use the initial £20 off £60+ code if that’s all you want.”
In other money news, Martin Lewis has previously issued an alert to anyone who still has unspent Christmas gift cards. The consumer expert shared his thoughts on several issues on a recent edition of his BBC podcast.
