A man has been charged with the sexual assault of a child.
Hamed Mohamodie, 28, of Ashley Road, Hale, appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court on January 3.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Minshull Street Crown Court on February 6. Police were initially alerted to an alleged incident at a property in Hale, Greater Manchester.
Greater Manchester Police said in a statement: “A man has been charged with sexual assault of a child in Hale. Hamed Mohamodie (21/04/1997), of Ashley Road, Hale, was charged with sexual assault of a child under 13 and remanded in custody.
“He appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, January 3, 2026, and was remanded in custody to appear at Minshull Street Crown Court on Friday, February 6, 2026.
“On Thursday, January 1, 2026, at 2.20pm, police were called following reports that a child had been sexually assaulted at a property in Hale.”
A force spokesperson added: “Due to the specific circumstances of this alleged offence, we do not consider there is a wider threat to the public.”
