Police have issue a picture of a suspect wanted for questioning following the fatal stabbing of a teen in Birmingham.
Chris Ikouara, died at the scene on Olton Boulevard East, in Acocks Green, on Tuesday, January 13 after he was stabbed. Following the 19-year-old’s death, West Midlands Police is asking for assistance from the public in finding Zachariah Liburd, 22, and have issued a picture.
In a statement, police said: “We’re asking the public to help us find a man wanted over the murder of Chris Ikouara in Acocks Green.
“Mr Ikouara, aged 19, was stabbed at an address on Olton Boulevard East on Tuesday (13 January) and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“Our thoughts remain with his family, who are being kept up to date and supported by specialist officers.
“Detectives have been working around the clock to establish what happened, speaking to witnesses as well as recovering and reviewing CCTV from around the area. We are now asking for the public’s help to find Zachariah Liburd (pictured), aged 22, who is a suspect in our investigation.”
Police have urged Mr Liburd to come forward, while also appealing to the public, saying information would be treated in confidence.
Detective Supt Jim Munro, from our Homicide unit said: “I would urge Liburd to do the right thing. Come forward before we find you.
“Highly trained officers are following a number of lines of enquiry, and we’re grateful for the public’s help so far.
“What we need now is for anyone with information on Liburd, no matter how insignificant you think it might be – to get in touch with us straight away.
“Information will be treated in confidence. But if anyone is helping Liburd avoid us you should know you will also face arrest and prosecution.”
