Emergency services attended woodland in Bude, Cornwall and located a 15-year-old boy, who police said was local to the area

The body of a teenage boy has been found a woodland area.

The 15-year-old was discovered in Bude, Cornwall and, in a statement, police said was local to the area.

The teenager was pronounced as deceased and his next of kin have been informed. Police said his death is not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “We were called at around 4.25pm on Thursday, January 8, following a report of a concern for welfare for a male in a wooded area in Bude.

“The emergency services attended and despite best efforts, a 15-year-old local boy was pronounced deceased at the scene.

“His next of kin has been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for HM Coroner.”
