Your local store will likely be open under slightly different hours over the next couple of weeks
Morrisons shoppers should be aware of the upcoming change in opening times for Christmas.
Your local store will likely be open under slightly different hours over the next couple of weeks – so it is important to be aware of when you can visit, especially if you need something last-minute for your Christmas feast.
When we checked several larger Morrisons supermarkets today, they were scheduled to open from 6am until 6pm on Christmas Eve. This means stores will close slightly earlier than usual.
Morrisons will then keep their larger stores closed on Christmas Day, before reopening on Boxing Day, where stores will open from 9am until 6pm.
For its smaller Morrisons Daily convenience stores, opening times vary massively depending on your location. The majority are scheduled to open from 6am on Christmas Eve, but some will then close as early as 6pm, while others will stay open until 10pm.
It is best to use the Morrisons opening times tool on its website to check the operating hours for your local store. The Morrisons Daily stores we checked online were all scheduled to remain closed on Christmas Day.
Then on Boxing Day, most of the Morrisons Daily opening times we checked showed they will welcome customers from 7am, then some will close at 6pm, while others will stay open until 10pm.
It comes as Morrisons is giving away over 27 tonnes of carrots for customers to “feed to Rudolph” and his friends.
Shoppers will be able to pick up a free carrot from the “Naturally Wonky” range until Christmas Eve, while stocks last. These carrots may be slightly unusual in shape or size.
Chris Smith, Root Veg Senior Trader at Morrisons, said: “Christmas is all about spreading joy and cheer, so we’re delighted to offer our younger customers a free wonky carrot to leave out for Rudolph and his friends on Christmas Eve.
“Our Naturally Wonky range supports British farmers, reduces waste and gives customers a great-value option that still tastes fantastic.”
It comes as several major UK supermarkets are slashing the price of Christmas vegetables to just 5p, including potatoes, carrots, parsnips, cabbage and Brussels sprouts.
This includes Morrisons, which has lowered the price of the following foods for More card customers:
- Carrots (1kg) – 5p
- Parsnips (500g) – 5p
- Brussel Sprouts (500g) – 5p
- Whole Swede – 5p
