Consumer writer Nisha Mal has spotted a 55-inch Hisense TV with £400 off ahead of Christmas
As a consumer writer, I cover TV deals on a weekly basis, and although most shoppers might think the best deals are on the high street, Amazon often hosts the biggest savings. In the run-up to the festive season, I’ve regularly covered some of their biggest deals, with most reductions on Amazon’s own-brand televisions and Hisense.
The marketplace has just dropped the price of a 55-inch Hisense QLED TV to just below half price. Originally £799, the Hisense 50-inch 50E78QTUK is on sale for £395, a saving of £404.
What’s more, Amazon promises delivery in time for Christmas, depending on exactly when consumers purchase it. For example, if I were to buy the TV today before 7pm, it’d be delivered on Monday, December 22.
Amazon hasn’t stated exactly when it will end its sale of the device. The 55-inch Hisense QLED TV also uses advanced AI technology to upscale content. The smart TV also features apps such as Prime, Netflix, iPlayer, and YouTube, among others.
As the name suggests, the Hisense TV uses QLED technology (stands for Quantum Dot Light Emitting Diode), which adds a layer of ‘Quantum Dots’ to an LED TV to deliver vivid, true-to-life colour. It also features Dolby Atmos, enabling users to experience sounds from all directions.

Consumers who like to shop around will also find competitive prices on a string of TVs at Argos. For instance, this TCL 55-inch TV is £279 in the retailer’s exclusive offer, and also comes with free delivery. For a larger screen, Argos also has this TLC 65-inch TV for £359.
Very has also been hosting a sale on TVs throughout December, most significantly on expensive models. For example, there’s £400 off this LG 55-inch OLED TV, now £1,099, down from £1,499.
Nevertheless, Amazon’s deal on the 55-inch Hisense OLED TV remains a strong contender, with more than 300 units sold in the past month. In the reviews, a customer said: “Firstly, the installation and mounting on the wall service was absolutely superb. Both guys were professional and super polite and went above and beyond, excellent customer service, would highly recommend.
The telly is brilliant, fantastic picture for a telly so big, easy to set up as well, both telly and installation guys well deserved 5 stars.” Another purchaser remarked: “Absolute quality. Great sound and picture. Easy to set up.”
However, some Amazon shoppers noted downsides. One shopper reported being unable to install a music app on the TV. They said: “You won’t find anything better at this price, you get what you pay for, nothing great but sufficient quality, for me, a big minus is the inability to install Spotify.”
Another user had a better experience, they wrote: “Bought as a gift. Picture quality is very good, and it was also straightforward to set up. Hopefully, it will provide many years of service.”
One person said: “Purchased for my new media wall. I’m very impressed, great picture and sound with lots of extra features and modes. Much better value than the so-called ‘big names’.
