Full list of the British superkartes that have shared their latest price drop on Christmas veg
Christmas is now only a week away, meaning hordes of people up and down the country will be racing to their nearest supermarket to get their hands on several meat and veg essentials. Buying food and drink for Christmas Day can quickly add up to a hefty bill, especially for those entertaining friends and family around the table.
With the cost-of-living crisis continuing to put a squeeze on people’s wallets and keeping grocery prices high, many will be seeking budget-friendly options this year. Thankfully, several major UK supermarkets are offering a special deal that means shoppers won’t need to spend more than necessary on vegetables.
Some of the most popular Christmas dinner veg are potatoes, carrots, parsnips, cabbage and Brussels sprouts. A handful of stores are reducing the price of these festive staples to a fraction of their usual cost, as low as 5p at some retailers. Below is a full list of stores selling discounted vegetables and the duration of the sale.
Morrisons – More Card prices

Morrisons has lowered the price of traditional Christmas vegetables for More Card members to only 5p in a deal that’s useful for anyone wanting to have a complete roast during the holiday season without spending too much. Before, some of these vegetables cost up to £1, but now they are available for far less. Offer ends December 25. The maximum is eight items per customer across all 5p veg.
Aldi
Supermarket Aldi has announced it will slash prices on its festive veg staples to just 8p as part of its popular Christmas Super Six promotion, available in stores from Thursday, December 18. Aldi says it is “making it easy for families to enjoy a delicious and affordable Christmas dinner with these fantastic price cuts”.
Aldi’s Festive Super Six promotion is available in stores between December 18-24, while stocks last. Full list of Aldi’s 8p veggies include:
- White Potatoes (8p, 2kg)
- Carrots (8p, 1kg)
- Parsnips (8p, 500g)
- Red and White Cabbages (8p each)
- Brussels Sprouts (8p, 500g)
- Swede (8p each)
A spokesperson for Aldi said: “What’s more, Aldi partners with British growers and uses fixed-cost pricing to ensure they receive a fair price, no matter the season. This commitment allows Aldi to offer shoppers the best savings without compromising on quality or fairness.”

Lidl has highlighted its 8p veg offer in its ‘Pick of the Week’, with other items, including fresh meat, also going down in price. A spokesperson said: “Take your pick from this week’s offers on fruit, veg meat and poultry, in store from Thursday, December 18, to Wednesday, December 24.” However, customers are being told there is a maximum of three of each pack per customer.

A Tesco spokesperson said: “With Christmas just days away, Tesco is helping customers get ready for festive celebrations. Starting on Thursday, December 18 until Christmas Day, Clubcard members can enjoy savings of up to 89% on festive veg – with seven essentials now just 15p in large stores.”
