The heated airer has been rated highly by Dunelm buyers
A three-tier heated airer that costs as little as 9p an hour to run is earning glowing reviews from shoppers who say it dries laundry ‘in hours instead of days’. As energy-conscious households look for cheaper alternatives to tumble drying, this compact electric airer has become a standout favourite.
The Three-Tier Heated Airer is priced at £95 on Dunelm and it is designed to speed up drying times with a low running cost of around 9p per hour. Made from sturdy aluminium, it offers 20 metres of drying space and can hold up to 15kg of laundry, making it suitable for everything from everyday clothing to bulkier items.
The vertical layout helps maximise capacity without taking up too much floor space. Running at 330 watts, the airer gently heats to help clothes dry far quicker than they would on an unheated rack, the brand says.

It also folds away neatly when not in use, which is especially handy for smaller homes or anyone trying to save space. For even faster results, it can be used alongside the matching heated airer cover.
The cover traps warmth to create an enclosed drying environment, helping moisture evaporate more efficiently and delivering shorter drying times overall, the brand says. Alternatively, there’s the Argos Home 21m Three-Tier Heated Airer for £105 on its website, which has been rated highly by shoppers.

One person said: “Amazing! Drying in hours instead of days. Removes the moisture quickly and the house doesn’t feel damp with wet clothes. Definitely needs the cover over it, but I love it and would recommend it to anyone.”
A second commented: “This is the second three-tier airer we have bought. Last year we bought one for our daughter, she was so pleased with it that we bought one. It dries a full load (full trays) overnight. It’s brilliant.”
A third added: “Excellent heated airer, gets really warm and dries my washing really quickly. Lots of space and it folds up to store away. I would definitely recommend it and it was a reasonable price.”
Some others deducted a star for a number of reasons, such as: “Heated drier is bulky so do check sizes before purchase, however it has lots of flat drying areas along with hanging areas – ideal if you don’t want central heating on for too long. Still takes a while to dry, but very useful in bad weather.”
Another said: “It works really well, It pretty much dries a full load overnight. The way I use it is leaving it overnight with the cover and then uncovering it in the morning to air dry the last few bits and that works really well. It does steam up a room though.”
