A streaming fan has shared a TV show you might want to add to your watch-list. Luke Eccleston said it was ‘so good’ he was ‘hooked’ from the very first episode, and binged the whole thing

Although it can feel like you’re endlessly scrolling through Netflix trying to find your next binge-watch, the streaming service is always adding new titles for members to enjoy. But with so much out there, it can be difficult to know what’s worth watching.

If you’re now on the lookout for the next thing to add to your watch-list, you’re in luck. Luke Eccleston regularly shares his recommendations on his @EccyReviews TikTok page. Luke recently told his 352.8k TikTok followers they needed to “stop whatever you’re doing” because Netflix has dropped a new series which he says “might be one of the best shows of the year”.

The show, which is based on a true story, is called The Monster of Florence, which is a four-part limited series. Explaining the plot, he said: “It follows a real life case, serial killer, who murdered couples in their car over 17 years. A total of eight different couples.

“Now, trust me when I tell you the first episode will have you absolutely hooked. It is so good. Made me binge the entire thing and I honestly couldn’t recommend it enough.”

Luke said this series just “can’t go under the radar” and begged “everyone” to watch it. The Monster of Florence has a score of 62% on Rotten Tomatoes, and the description reads: “Follows the case of Il Mostro di Firenze, Italy’s first serial killer, who eluded justice while terrorising the nation for decades.”

Nicknamed Il Monstro di Firenze, or the Monster of Florence, the killer targeted and shot couples who were parked in secluded spots on the outskirts of the city between 1968 and 1985. The identity of the killer remains unknown, and it remains one of Italy’s biggest mysteries.

The Netflix series, which was created by Leonardo Fasoli and Stefano Sollima, starts with the murder of a young couple who were found murdered in their car in 1982. It causes the police to reopen a case from 1968 with striking similarities.

The series continues to explore the case with the help of investigators, journalists, and followers suspects. Director Sollima said: “There was not a single perpetrator who has been sentenced for all 16 murders”.

He added: “We decided to tell the story from the beginning, when investigators started connecting the dots and realised this might be the act of a serial killer.”

In the comment section, people shared their thoughts about it. “Loved it!” said one person. Another added: “It was so disturbing. A good watch though!” Another wrote: “You’re the only person whose recommendations l trust.”
