Tily came out on top over her ultra-competitive dad in a race which also included Tana Ramsay and chef Paul Ainsworth
Tilly Ramsay claimed family bragging rights as she beat mum Tana and dad Gordon in an Ironman race in Greece. Tilly completed the AEH IRONMAN 70.3 Costa Navarino, Greece, in a time of 6hrs 0mins 40secs, and came fourth in her age-group overall, sensationally topping her father by 43 minutes.
Up-and-coming celebrity chef Tilly only raced her first triathlon 10 weeks ago, making her achievement even more impressive. Gordon crossed the finish line in a time of 6:44.38. Tana, who overtook Gordon on the run, finished in a time of 6:10.07.
Trading aprons for aero helmets, racing alongside Gordon was fellow chef Paul Ainsworth, who had a great day out on the course and took the time of 5:29.17, a personal best for the chef. Paul has featured on BBC ’s Saturday Brunch, MasterChef, and many more British TV shows, as well as owning multiple outstanding restaurants such as Paul Ainsworth at Number 6 in Cornwall.
In recent years, he has taken on Ironman triathlon racing, competing in IRONMAN 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun in both 2024 and 2025. An Ironman 70.3 triathlon consists of a 1.2-mile swim (1.9-kilometer) a 56-mile bike (90-kilometers), and a 13.1 mile run (a half marathon) to finish it all off.
Tilly, Gordon, Tana and Paul flew out to compete in the race, each taking time out from their busy filming schedules. Tilly, who has amassed over one million Instagram followers and nearly 10 million followers on TikTok, is quickly following in her father’s footsteps, carving out a name for herself both in the kitchen and on screen including her newest series Dish It Out on Amazon Prime.
She has also appeared as judge on MasterChef Junior as well as a contestant on Celebrity Strictly Come Dancing and MasterChef Australia. Now pursuing her culinary education under her own steam, she is trying her hand at triathlon and clearly succeeding.

Gordon, who most recently competed at IRONMAN 70.3 Luxembourg Remich-Région Moselle in July, was determined to improve his overall time. He had a strong swim and bike, making him nearly 8mins faster than his race in Luxembourg. Joining him once again was his wife, Tana, who previously raced alongside him at the IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire triathlon back in 2015.
Tana’s best discipline being the run, she ran with ease and clocked the fastest run of the family at 2:02.41. Gordon crossed the finish line and said: “We are officially an IRON Family! This race was cooked to perfection. The swim was smooth; the bike was tricky at points but just so beautiful and the run challenged me, but we got there. Most importantly I’m so proud of Tilly and Tana who absolutely crushed it.”
Tilly, who sensationally took the family win, said: “Competing with my family made the whole experience so special…and it was really nice to put Dad in his place today! Triathlon has given me a new way to challenge myself and stay grounded, and I can see why so many people become so passionate about it. I’m just starting to cook with IRONMAN, this will not be my last.”
Tana said: “Racing today with my family and friends, is what it is all about! I loved every second.”
Paul said: “From cooking together to competing together – it’s been quite a journey! It’s brilliant to share this experience together, and to see how that same drive we had in the kitchen translates to triathlon.”
The whole family were involved throughout race week, even 6-year-old Oscar Ramsay took part in the IRONKIDs in Pylos on Saturday, October 25. Proud father Gordon wrapped his arms round him on the finish line and put him on his shoulders to celebrate his race. Paul’s daughter Ci Ci also took part and was one of the top five finishers.
