A woman has told how she ushered a man into her car after seeing him being chased in Park Road South, heading towards Claughton Road near Birkenhead Park, in Merseyside
A stranger jumped into a woman’s car and stabbed a man in its back seat in what has been described as a “horror movie” attack.
The shock attack in Merseyside saw a man climb into the backseat of a woman’s car as she drove her elderly mum on Park Road South in Merseyside, just moments after she offered save haven to a man she saw was being chased on the street.
The unnamed woman described seeing a young man in the middle of the road and stopping as she saw he was being chased by two others on a moped, before ushering him into the back of her car.
As she welcomed in the man, his attacker unexpectedly followed, and he started stabbing him in the leg.
Speaking to the Liverpool Echo, the unnamed woman described the moment she put her foot on the accelerator in a desperate but successful bid to shake the attacker off her car.
Her fast thinking meant the man was able to receive medical attention, with Merseyside Police confirming he was whisked to hospital for urgent treatment.
The woman, who has asked to remain anonymous, told the Echo she was initially confused when she saw the young man, saying she thought he may be on drugs as he tried car handles while “screaming”.
She said: “It was just a horrific attack for me and my mum to witness. I was driving along the road when I saw this young lad was walking up the middle of the road, trying car handles, screaming. I thought that maybe he was on drugs.
“I checked to see whether the car door was locked. Then I saw a moped with two people on it behind him.
“The lad was shouting, they’re going to kill me. I started shouting for the lad to get in the car. As he was running towards my car, one of the lads got off the bike. My eyes were drawn to his hand and I saw that he had a knife.”
