When the chill sets in, many households have been turning to their Oodies for some additional warmth. This oversized hoodie provides constant cosy comfort with its fluffy fleece lining, acting like both a hoodie and a blanket in one.
But it’s not just us humans who’ve taken a liking to this trend, as many dog owners have found their furry friends snuggling up in the Oodie – or even nicking it for themselves. As the temperature drops, we want to ensure our four-legged mates are also kept snug and warm and now, thanks to Oodie, they can join in on the fun with the Original Dog Oodie.

Retailing at £29, one of the most sought-after designs is the Space Black Original Dog Oodie. This comfy item is essentially a scaled-down version of the human Oodie, and boasts a double-sided flannel fleece design that prevents dogs from overheating, complete with two sleeves for the front paws and a hood.
Featuring an opening to easily attach a lead for walkies, your pooch will stay toasty and comfortable throughout the colder months. The Dog Oodie can be machine washed, but it’s advised to do so on a gentle cycle at a maximum of 40C.
There are currently four sizes available for pet owners to choose from – XS/S, M/L, XL/XXL and XLP. Oodie suggests that the XS/S is suitable for small dogs and Chihuahuas, while the M/L would be a good fit for dogs ike Cavaliers and King Charlie Spaniels. The XL/XXL size would accommodate a standard Poodle or a Labrador, with the XLP fitting Rottweilers and German Shepherds.
For those who wish to explore more options, Amazon offers the Elite Paws Luxury Drying Coat, priced between £17.99 and £32.99 depending on your dog’s size. This coat is primarily designed to help dogs dry off after outdoor adventures, boasting a soft and velvety design.
Alternatively, Next is retailing a Joules Navy Blue Dog Knit Jumper for between £18 and £22 in small, medium and large sizes. With its cricket-inspired knit design, this jumper will provide an excellent layer for chilly walks.
Returning to the Dog Oodie, the Space Black edition currently boasts a 4.8 star rating from over 100 shoppers. Many owners have praised how much their pups adore the hoodie, though some expressed concerns about the sizing.
One thrilled customer shared: “After stealing mine everyday I thought she deserved her own, best decision ever! ! She loves it so much and keeps her nice and warm.”
Another five-star reviewer added: “We bought our Shih Tzu Bindi her own Oodie. She loves it. It’s soft, warm, colourful and looks great. It does run big, we need to roll up the legs for her.”
However, one customer did complain: “Loved it but far too small and quite hard to put on as it’s smaller than we envisaged. We bought the biggest size too. The dog likes it once it’s on but the sleeves are not that roomy under the arms. Easier to get off than on as we can pull it over his head and he can step out of it.”
Another shopper warned: “Great quality but sadly the large didn’t fit my dog around the chest. I would recommend it for smaller breeds.”
Despite this, one satisfied customer purchased it for their Stafford and said: “She gets cold at night so this is the perfect one for her and not too warm as the full leg pjs would be.”
