People joked ‘not again’ as the discount fashion chain continues to target gamers with its new collections
People have been vowing to “buy them all” as Primark releases another new range that appeals to gamers. The newest collection features another game that has had fans living their best and simplest life since the early 2000s.
The Primark staff in Warrington (@prmrkwarrington) showed off some of the new collection that gamers have said they “need”. Staff showed off the entire collection on social media, with everything being a full outfit set and nothing costing more than £20.
The cheapest set is the £11 Timmy and Tommy Pyjamas, with a white cropped t-shirt and light blue-green shorts that are scattered with cherries and character faces in an all-over design. Primark adds: “Made for cosy nights in or lazy weekend lounging, the elasticated waist keeps things comfy. A fun pick for Animal Crossing lovers, this sleepwear set brings your favourite villagers into your bedtime routine.”
For those who aren’t fans of something short, Primark also offers the oversized K.K. Slider Nightshirt for £12. Featuring a large picture of the game’s travelling canine musician, shoppers can add this “calm” pale blue item to their sleepwear collection for “relaxed” vibes, whilst still showing their love for all things Animal Crossing.
But plenty were left feeling “obsessed” with the £17 Boyfriend Short Pyjama Set, which features many popular characters from the Nintendo game itself. Available in sizes XXS to XXL, Primark claims the “comfy” nightwear is perfect for people who want to “press pause and relax.”
It adds: “This Animal Crossing pyjama set is perfect for cosy nights and slow mornings. With a soft, lightweight fabric and a relaxed fit, it includes a short-sleeve button-up top with a revere collar and matching elasticated waist shorts.
“The mint base is covered in a colourful all-over print of your favourite Animal Crossing friends, including Isabelle and Tom Nook. Whether you’re playing late into the night or just lounging around, this playful set brings a bit of island life to your downtime.”
Plenty had their say on the store’s TikTok video. One person wrote: “I’d wear the first shirt on a normal day! Love Animal Crossing!”
Another added: “This only took like five years, but I need them all!” A third said: “Do I think these prices are extortionate? Yes. Will I buy them as soon as I see them? Also yes!”
Someone else put: “First The Sims, now Animal Crossing… they’re coming for the cosy gamers big time!” And, one more asked: “Where are the pants? It’s cosy season Primark!”
A fan of the games posted: “For that first set, I know £17 is a lot and I thought that myself, but OMG its so soft!” One more joked underneath: “Please not again, I already just bought the Sims stuff!” and Primark playfully responded that “another pair [of pyjamas] won’t hurt” with some winking emojis.
Some of the Primark items are available to reserve online via the click and collect service that rolled out across the country earlier this year. The service is designed to take some of the hassle and stress out of scouring through the racks and rails of Primark in search of one specific item.
Animal Crossing is a Nintendo-exclusive game that last launched a new title on the Nintendo Switch in 2020, with millions of worldwide players still logging on daily to manage the growth of their own personal island. Some fans of the franchise will have been long-time players since the original release in 2001.
Recently, Primark came out with another gaming-themed set of pyjamas, ideal for getting cosy indoors now the weather is set to take a colder turn. Fans of The Sims were thrilled to spot some of the new range available in Primark’s store which includes pyjamas as well as accessories like socks.
