A 48-year-old man and a 10-year-old girl sadly died following a caravan fire in Ingoldmells, Lincolnshire, on Saturday – they have now been named as father Lee and daughter Esme
The two people who tragically died in a caravan fire in the early hours of Saturday have been pictured for the first time.
Yesterday the news emerged that a man, 48, and a girl, 10, had died at Golden Beach Holiday Park, in Ingoldmells, Lincolnshire, following a caravan fire. They have now been named as father Lee and daughter Esme in a GoFundMe set up in their honour.
The GoFundMe has so far raised £2,900. It describes the pair as “two peas in a pod” who were “both happy go lucky people who loved life”.
It states in full: “Unfortunately on the morning of the 05/04/2025 a fire broke out taking the life’s of both Farther Lee and Daughter Esme, just ten years old at their holiday home within Ingoldmells, Skegness.
“Lee and Esme were two peas in a pod, both happy go lucky people who loved life. They were and forever remain adored by Genette, his oldest daughter Paige and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting them.
“Flowers are being laid the morning of 06/04/2025 beside The Sandancer, PE251LW and anyone is welcome to contribute to this.
“A charity night is to be later announced to celebrate the life of these two individuals sadly lost far too early. Information to be announced at a later date, to which anyone is welcome. All contributions are being paid to Lee and Esme’s family.”
Lincolnshire Police were called to the caravan park at around 3.53am on Saturday. The force has launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire, with officers “keeping an open mind”. Crime Scene Investigators were on site on Saturday.
Lincolnshire Police said in a statement: “We are very sad to confirm that two people have died following a caravan fire at Goldenbeach Holiday Park, Roman Bank, Ingoldmells.
“We were called at 3.53 am today (5 April) to a report of a caravan fire at the holiday park where two people have tragically lost their lives. Their next of kin have been informed and will be supported by specially trained officers.
“Fire & Rescue crews attended from Skegness, Wainfleet, Spilsby and Alford. There are two crews still at the scene and fire investigations are on-going.
“We have Crime Scene Investigators on site, and we are carrying out inquires to determine the exact cause of the fire. We are at the very early stages of our investigation and as such we are keeping an open mind.”
