Jo Malone is renowned worldwide for its luxurious fragrances, with celebrities like Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and Helen Mirren all sharing their love for this premium scent brand.
Pomegranate Noir is among the best-selling fragrances from Jo Malone. On the official website, a 100ml bottle is priced at £118. This perfume is characterised as ‘sensual’ and combines the ‘luscious essence of exotic pomegranate with hints of pink pepper and Casablanca lily, all enriched by the alluring warmth of smoky guaiac wood and patchouli’.
Although Jo Malone offers luxurious scents, its price point can be a barrier for many, as a 100ml bottle usually costs over £100. Fortunately, fragrance lovers looking for a more affordable option can find a £4 alternative at Home Bargains, which shoppers claim is ‘just as good’.
The Elegant Pomegranate Eau De Parfum from the thrifty store, available in a 100ml bottle, can be purchased online or in-store for just £4.49. This budget-friendly fragrance mirrors Jo Malone’s Pomegranate Noir and features a delightful blend of pomegranate, pink pepper, lily, patchouli, and guaiac wood, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Additional components consist of rhubarb, plum, raspberry, watermelon, clove, olibanum, opoponax, rose, jasmine, Virginia cedar, amber, and musk. According to Home Bargains’ description of its Elegant Pomegranate Eau De Parfum, it invites you to “experience the enchanting aroma of Elegant Pomegranate Eau De Parfum, featuring a rich combination of fruity top notes and a floral heart, all enveloped in a cosy, musky foundation.”
It continues: “Perfect for any occasion, this 100ml fragrance will leave you feeling fresh and fabulous.” In the well-known Facebook group Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK, a member named Carol shared a photo comparing Jo Malone’s Pomegranate Noir with Home Bargains’ Elegant Pomegranate.
She captioned her post: “Spotted at Home Bargains today. This 100ml Pomegranate perfume is a great [alternative] to Jo Malone’s Pomegranate Noir, priced at just £4.49. Here’s a picture of both the original and the [alternative].” It didn’t take long for the comments to start rolling in.
Lesley claimed that the £4 version smells ‘just like’ the more expensive £118 bottle, stating: “I own both and honestly can’t tell them apart.” Nicola added: “I use this as my work fragrance and receive so many compliments on it. For £4.49, you really can’t beat it!”
Lucy put: “I have the same. The smell seems to last too.” Gemma claimed: “I wear this everyday, and not a day goes by somebody complements me about it.”
