A 16-year-old boy has been left with serious injuries after he was stabbed in broad daylight before disorder broke out at a hospital – with police now probing both incidents which they believe to be linked.
West Midlands Police were called to Pretoria Road in Bordesly Green at around 3.30pm yesterday to reports a teen had been stabbed. He was rushed to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains in a stable condition, while a manhunt has been launched for the knifeman.
Cops are also investigating disorder that broke out at a Birmingham hospital, believed to be Heartlands Hospital, which happened later in the night. Police said the trouble involved a number of people and is believed to be linked to the stabbing.
In a statement shared with BirminghamLive, a police spokesman said: “We are investigating after a teenager was stabbed in Bordesley Green, Birmingham yesterday (Saturday). We were called to reports of a stabbing in Pretoria Road at around 3.30pm.
“A 16-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where he remains in a stable condition. An investigation is underway to establish the details. We are also investigating reports of disorder involving a number of people at a Birmingham hospital which is believed to be linked to the stabbing incident.

No arrests have been made and police inquiries are continuing.
According to the publication, a witness claimed Heartlands Hospital was forced to go into “lockdown” after a group “ambushed” the A&E department, and that an ambulance was also “raided with a patient inside.”
