New weather maps have predicted what areas will be struck by damp conditions next month. It comes after a series of yellow weather warnings for rain
Brits have been warned to brace themselves for an 800-mile wall of rain which could hit the majority of the UK.
New weather maps have revealed that much of the UK will dampen including parts of Plymouth and all the way up to Newcastle. Other major cities which are expected to be hit by the conditions include Southampton, London and Liverpool.
According to the maps by WXCharts, the disastrous weather is expected to take place next month on February 9. It comes after the UK has been plunged under numerous weather alerts in the past week including yellow weather warnings for rain. Harsh winds of up to 100mph earlier sparked danger to life warnings in Northern Ireland and Scotland due to Storm Éowyn.
The Met Office issued a five day forecast which suggested there will be some cloud and further rain this week. Whilst its long-range forecast has revealed what to expect for next month between February 4 to February 13. It said: “Periods of wet weather are likely to affect northwestern parts of the UK at times, particularly early in this period. Some heavy rain is possible and this is likely to be accompanied by spells of strong winds.
“South of this, across the rest of the UK, it is likely to be more settled and whilst some rain can’t be ruled out at times, there is likely to be plenty of dry weather through this period. Winds will be lighter and this will bring the risk of overnight frost and fog. Overall, temperatures will be close to normal for most, but it is likely to be mild at times in the northwest. Brief colder spells are likely here in between weather systems though.”
