If you’re looking for a New Year’s Eve outfit that’s a little different to the usual sequin dresses, then this Warehouse jumpsuit is the perfect alternative
When it comes to winter partywear, dresses have long dominated the high street options, and if I’m perfectly honest, I’m a little bored of the same old silhouettes. But this month, I’ve found the ultimate alternative to shake things up so I can ring in the New Year in style this December 31.
Debenhams has smashed their going-out outfits this season, with a festive campaign fronted by big name stars like Elizabeth Hurley and Hannah Cooper-Dommett. The high street favourite released dozens of new-in styles for Christmas parties, and one in particular from Warehouse has earned the coveted place as my NYE ensemble.
The fashion brand’s Hand Embellished Sequin Plunge Neck Fringe Jumpsuit was one of many I’d ordered online as a potential option to wear as I dance the night away into 2025, but from the photos online, it didn’t immediately win me over. But when it arrived, I knew it was the one.
I asked 16 celebrities what their must-have beauty product is and this is what they told me
Whistles up to 50% off sale includes dresses loved by Rebecca Adlington and Josie Gibson
The jumpsuit features a daring plunging neckline which instantly gives it a sultry vibe, but doesn’t lend itself to any wardrobe malfunctions, with no tape needed to keep everything in place. Coming in a dark charcoal shade, it’s a refreshing change to black, which tends to wash me out anyway, making it a flattering alternative.
Adorning the jumpsuit is an all-over hand embellishment sequins which catch the light beautifully. But my favourite part has to be the dramatic fringe detailing , which shimmies and shakes when you walk or dance. Plus it gives it a subtle western aesthetic and, because of the wide leg design, I can even wear my trusty, flat cowboy boots with it, and still look polished without compromising on comfort.
The jumpsuit is such a statement piece that it needs little accessorising, but you could pair it with metallic platform heels, statement earrings, clutch bag and bold red lip, or layer it with a structured blazer for a sophisticated look.
The only issue I encountered when wearing the jumpsuit is, of course, the dreaded trip to the loo. I found it tricky to undo the zip without getting fringe detailing caught in it on the way back up – however, this minor setback wasn’t enough to put me off wearing it. I also worried it might be tricky to take care of, but according to the labels, it’s machine washable, too.
Oh, and did I mention that it’s currently on sale? Originally £179, the outfit is now £90 , saving customers 50% on the price. And if you’re wondering where else you can wear it, it’s sure to be a head turner at weddings, cocktail parties or even a music festival with wellies and a denim jacket.
Another jumpsuit I love for a NYE party is this Mariah Sequin Fringe Wide Leg Jumpsuit at Phase Eight, which gives the illusion of a fringe silver top and black trousers for £129. Or if you’re looking for a dress, this Black Sequin Fringe Hem Flapper Dress at Roman is giving us all the art deco vibes for £64.
But for me, the Warehouse jumpsuit proves that dresses don’t have to steal all of the limelight this New Year. With its funky tassels, cool colourway and sparkles, it’s every bit as showstopping as a gown, if not more. Best of all, it offers the comfort and confidence of trousers so you can look cool and move freely all night long. You can buy the Warehouse jumpsuit here.
