As the next global conflict has ‘already begun’, a mum has revealed she’s fully prepared for any disaster after spending more than £15,000 on stocking up her food pantry in case of an emergency
As fears of World War Three escalate, one woman has made sure she’s already stocked up her groceries in the event of a disaster.
Self-proclaimed ‘Doomsday prepper’ Krystal Christensen has revealed she’s spent $20,000 (£15,700) over the past ten years on prepping her food and grocery storage in case disaster strikes. As Vladimir Putin approved a new nuclear doctrine as fears of a third worldwide conflict escalate, Dmitry Medvedev, who has been serving as deputy chairman of the Security Council of Russia, said that in this case, this could amount to WW3.
Krystal may be onto something as the mum has a whole pantry full of stocked-up food in her home, including several tubs of “long term” goods with a 25-year shelf life that she says will last the family of five for a whole year.
Krystal proudly calls herself the queen of prepping, frugal living, gardening, canning, and food preservation. She regularly shares her tips and tricks under the social media name @charminglyfrugal. “I’m a doomsday prepper, and I prep for everything,” she told Truly and said: “Whether the grid collapses and the power turns off or there’s another pandemic, civil war, civil unrest or World War Three,” she will always be stocked up.
A clip of her interview was posted to TikTok, where Krystal shared an insight into her impressive pantry full of food and said they have anything from “top ramen” to seasonings, large bags of coffee and also huge tubs of pasta oatmeal. She also has a stock of preserved foods such as carrots and pickles in jars as well as corn she said she had canned back in 2021.
She then shared that she’s been learning how to freeze dry food to make readymade meals just in case. However she wants to expand on her stock and said: “Right now my new food goal is a three year food supply, and then our next goal is to go completely off grid.”
It’s not just a food supply the family has prepared as the mum revealed they also have ‘bug out bags’ ready incase they need to leave the house in an emergency, and Krystal added: “We also store up on plate carriers and body armour I need to be prepared that my kids are taken care of at all costs.
“Our kids love and thrive in knowing what to do in an emergency, and it brings them a sense of calm rather than a sense of panic.” People were quick to praise Krystal’s pantry full of food, as one TikToker commented: “As you should!”
While another said: “Perfect for hurricane season.” However, others weren’t sure as one person chimed: “Sweetie, if there’s a WW3, you won’t need any of that!” And a second asked: “You don’t think your house gone get blown up too?”
