Shoppers have been thrilled to see the chocolate bar is back in stock, which you would usually only see in Australia
B&M shoppers often find unique treats on offer in stores, including items you wouldn’t usually find in the UK but other parts of the world instead. Some items become so popular that fans beg for them to return to stores.
Fans of Australian chocolates will find a familiar item back in the sweet aisle. One shopper spotted the dark chocolate treat and shared the find on Facebook.
They wrote: “Cadbury Cherry Ripe Bars BACK at B&M!” Paired with a heart-eyed emoji, the feeling appeared to be mutual with several other sweet lovers who commented that they were just as thrilled.
One person said: “Omg , love these. Used to buy them everyday on way to school when I lived in Oz” Another declared: “My fave Aussie choc!” A third person joked that they’ve “booked a shipping container” so they can stock up.
Cherry Ripe is filled with cherry-flavoured coconut shavings (a bit like Bounty) and then dipped in dark chocolate. It has been a popular treat down under since it was first sold in 1924. Someone else commented: “Can’t believe they’re back! I’ve had my fingers crossed for ages!”
The discount retailer often imports sweet treats from around the world, with other Australian goodies often hitting the shelves. Previously, the store has stocked unique twists on the classic Freddo with strawberry and vanilla flavours, as well as iconic bars like the Perky Nana, Moro, and white chocolate Dream bars.
But, not every Aussie treat proves a hit with B&M shoppers. Recently, it was reported that a ‘rare’ box packed with Australian sweets would be returning to the Christmas aisles.
The treat box, which costs £5, was met with mixed reviews by shoppers. Lots claimed the pack – that only had five sweets in total – could have done with other additions to represent the nation – including this £1 bar found now in the standard sweet section.
One pitched: “It’s missing Tim Tams, Violet Crumble and my favourite Cherry Ripe!” Another asked: “Missing Cherry Ripe and Chokito!” Someone else pointed out: “How are they going to theme this around Australia and not add timtams?”
