Around 60 firefighters have been called to a fire at a block of flats in Hammersmith, London, that has left a flat destroyed and two cats sadly killed.
The London Fire Brigade said: “Eight [fire engines] and around 60 firefighters were called to a fire at a block of flats on Amber Way in Hammersmith.
“Part of a three roomed flat on the fifth floor in the seven storey block of flats was destroyed by fire. It was a very visible fire with 20 999 calls made to the Brigade’s Control centre alerting them to the fire. Sadly two cats died at the scene. Thankfully, no injuries are reported.
“The Brigade’s 999 Control centre received their first call about the fire at 1748. The fire was under control by 1843. Fire crews from Acton, Chiswick, Kensington, North Kensington, Paddington, Ealing and Chelsea fire stations.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
