I saved my white sheets with this half price Fake Tan Bedding Protector. It’s is a silky-soft, cooling saviour that completely stops overnight fake tan transfer.
In preparation for getting my legs out for the heatwave, I participated in an obligatory self tan session, and although some of my favourite tanners only leave minimal transfer, it’s hard to find a fake tan solution that’s completely transfer-proof.
Dunelm’s Hotel Beauty Fake Tan Bedding Protector saves the day – and my white sheets – in another way however. Made of silky-soft fabric, this sleeping bag of sorts is designed to shield sheets from tanning lotions, mousses and overnight transfer.
It comes in two trendy shades, Silver and Navy Blue, and comes with a drawstring sack the bag can be folded into after washing. It has a a large entrance opening and discreet zip along one side make it easy to slip in and out, while the additional zip at the foot allows airflow to keep you cooler through the night. There’s also a panel with an opening for your pillow.
Having used the protector on an evening when my room hit a sweltering 30 degrees, I found the thin bedding surprisingly cooling – thanks to it’s silky fabric – and it provided a comfortable nights sleep as my tan developed. Needless to say, my sheets stayed pearly white too, with no tan transfer passing through.
The best bit? Dunelm have slashed the Hotel Beauty Fake Tan Bedding Protector by half price as part of their summer sale, bringing it down from £15 to just £7.50.
Argos also stock a fake tan bedding protector that fits any standard bed size, with elasticated corners and edges that grip mattresses up to 28cm deep. The Sassy B Pouting Lips Pink Tan Protector Sheet is currently £13.
Elsewhere, you can find the Jenela Self Tanning Bed Protector Sheet at Amazon for £13.99. It’s similar to a sleeping bag, but bigger, and has panels at both ends that tuck under your mattress so it doesn’t move in the night. It also comes with a separate pillowcase to protect your pillow.
Back at Dunelm, the Hotel Beauty Fake Tan Bedding Protector only has three reviews, but all rave about the product’s efficiency. One happy shopper wrote: “Nice and light for summer and stops fake tan from staining bedsheets. Well made and comes with a nice little storage pouch too. Highly recommend.”
Another added: “Just what I was looking for, not for me but for my teenage daughter who uses fake tan. Saving me from so many washes of duvet covers, sheets, pillow cases etc…..”
The third reviewer wrote: “This worked for us. Bought two more for family. Easy to use. Very happy with purchases.”
