‘High resolution’ £250 LG TV can be snapped up for free in deal that ends in days

With the highly-anticipated new season of the Premier League kicking off in a few weeks, the upcoming final of Love Island UK, and hit films like The Devil Wears Prada set to join Disney+ soon, there is a lot coming up for TV fans. Retailers are matching it with deals too, which has seen the likes of Samsung drop prices, and Sony launch a new range, but nothing compares to a free LG deal we’ve spotted.

In a whirlwind offer, Virgin Media is offering the 43-inch LG UHD TV , which usually sells for £249.99, for free. It’s part of the return of the providers’ combo bundles, which sees broadband and TV package shoppers claim a device, or £125 bill credit with their new contract.

Up until July 29, consumers can get the ‘excellent sound’ TV for no additional cost , but only with specific bundles. The cheapest starts at £46.99 per month. This is the cinema bundle and includes 362 Mbps broadband paired with 200 TV channels, a Netflix Standard with Ads account, Sky Cinema and Sky Atlantic.

As highlighted, the 2026/27 Premier League starts on August 22, so footie fans may be eagerly awaiting kick-off with a new sports TV package and device. Virgin Media’s Sport package could be an option if so.

At £56.99 a month, this includes all nine Sky Sport channels and Sky Cinema. As well as 362Mbps broadband, a Standard with Ads Netflix account and more than 200 TV channels, as BirminghamLive reported.

Another option is the Max Volt bundle at £78.99 per month, which is one of the most expensive but offers a wide range of features, including boosted 1130Mbps broadband.

The Max Volt bundle delivers a lightning-fast 1130 Mbps broadband alongside all Cinema and Sports channels, Sky Atlantic, Netflix and an unlimited O2 SIM card. However, it carries a heftier price tag, with a starting monthly fee of £78.99 per month.

It’s worth noting, however, that the deal does require a 24-month commitment, though it comes without any setup fees. In keeping with inflation, prices will also rise each April.

As Virgin Media doesn’t cover every part of the UK, consumers can enter their postcode to check whether the deal is available in their area. That said, not everybody will fancy upgrading their TV channels simply to get their hands on a new gadget. For those in that position, Currys has a deal worth a look.

The LG QNED70 43-inch model is currently on sale at £249.99, down from £299.99 at Currys. This is where shoppers rated the TV for its quality and price.

“Good value for money. Great picture and easy to set up”, said one shopper. While another highlighted the image quality. They said: “Crisp, clear high-resolution picture. Applications and software up to date and easy to set up.”

Another shopper praised the LG’s performance, saying: “I have just bought this TV as a replacement for a much older smart TV. The picture quality is excellent.”

Another customer said: “Very good TV, high quality image and sound – with a sound bar, awesome.” While the TV image and sound quality are good, one user highlighted: “Good quality TV, but the stand is a bit flimsy.”

For those simply looking to upgrade their existing broadband without the added bonus of a free TV, there are cheaper alternatives to Virgin’s deals on offer. Rival provider Plusnet, which is owned by BT, is currently offering fibre broadband from just £22.99 per month on a 24-month contract.

While it’s slower than Virgin at 74 Mbps, households with more modest internet needs may well prefer the budget-friendly option.
