Zara McDermott has shared the secret behind her bronzed glow at this year’s Pride of Britain awards, calling the Sol de Janeiro body oil ‘the only one she swears by’

This year’s Pride of Britain awards saw plenty of famous faces hitting the red carpet, including Zara McDermott who wowed in a glittering black and silver gown. Fans were obsessed with the documentary makers look, and Zara was kind enough to share some of her beauty secrets that she’d relied on to get ready for the annual event.

On Instagram, she shared that she’d had tonnes of requests for her body glow, and wrote: “We mixed the Rio Sunset and the Copacabana Bronze Sol de Janeiro Glow Motions Body Oils!” If you want to snap up Zara’s recommendations, both the Rio Sunset Bronze and the Copacabana Bronze are currently on sale for £28 at LookFantastic, down from £35.

‘The best smelling shower gel I’ve ever used’ Molly-Mae swears by body wash that lingers all day

‘I tried some of the viral cherry perfumes – these are the ones worth spending your money on’

The Sol de Janeiro GlowMotions Glow Body Oils create a subtle shimmer that catches the light to help highlight your best assets, and are scented with the brand’s best-loved Cheirosa 62 scent, which smells like pistachio, vanilla and salted caramel for the ultimate summer vibes – even in the middle of autumn.

Zara continued: “These are the only body oils I swear by. You need to have one in your drawer! The Rio Sunset colour is the lighter shade and the one I use more regularly. You can mix in with your normal body moisturiser for a really subtle glow or if you want to go extra (like me) you can use them on top. They make you look so tanned and show up so beautifully in piccies.”

Apart from creating an enviable sun-kissed glow, the Sol de Janeiro GlowMotions Glow Body Oils help nourish and hydrated your skin, too. They’re packed with capuacu butter, antioxidant-rich acai oil and coconut oil, which help soften, condition and protect your skin. If you’re worried about transferring, Sol de Janeiro recommends skipping your moisturiser and applying the oil directly to clean, dry skin.

As well as being amazing at giving your body a bronzey glow, the Sol de Janeiro Oils can also be used on your face. You can either use a small amount as a liquid highlighter, dabbing it into high points like your cheekbones, nose and brow bones, or mix it with your face moisturiser for a soft, subtle glow that seems to come from within.

If you’re looking for a slightly more subtle all-over glow, Rituals’ Karma Soul Shimmering Body Oil, £22.41, acts as a tan maximiser to enhance your existing bronze without adding too much colour to it. It has a satin finish which illuminates your skin, giving a more natural sun-kissed effect, and has a non-sticky, non-greasy formula making it comfortable to wear.

It also has a gorgeous summery scent to rival the Cheirosa 62, with a floral scent of holy lotus and organic white tea, which make you feel like you’re on a tropical island, even if you’re stuck in the British autumn.
