Zara McDermott showed how she creates her ‘strawberry makeup’ using Victoria Beckham’s glow-boosting foundation drops and shoppers say they give skin a ‘lovely fresh look’
As we head into spring, it’s time to ditch the heavy, full-coverage foundation you used over winter and start introducing something a little lighter and more hydrating. Not only does this help your skin breathe more as the temperatures get warmer, but it creates a glowy, dewy look that instantly makes you look healthier and more radiant.
One lightweight foundation that’s already proven a hit with celebrities is Victoria Beckham’s The Foundation Drops with TFC8, which were highly praised by Zara McDermott lately. The TV personality used them to create her “strawberry makeup” look on Instagram, and raved about the results.

Whilst giving a breakdown of the products she used for the look, Zara said of The Foundation Drops: “These are AMAZING omg. I use shade 7 but I think [they’re a] tad on the dark side for me right now!! Need to order in a 6 when back in stock!”
Created as a collaboration between Victoria Beckham’s beauty line and skincare brand Augustinus Bader, The Foundation Drops has a lightweight serum-style formula that gives light coverage with a buildable, natural feel. It contains Augustinus Bader’s TFC8, which rejuvenates skin cells with active ingredients, so it’ll actually make your skin better each time you wear it.
It’s been designed to melt into your skin rather than sitting on top of it, which gives The Foundation Drops a more flexible feel without cakiness or slipping. The only drawback of the VB foundation is that shades are consistently selling out, making it tricky to get your hands on it.
It also comes with a £104 price tag, although plenty of shoppers think it’s more than worth the price. One said: “Really like the foundation it’s almost like you don’t have anything on. Gives a Lovely fresh look.”
Another agreed: “This Foundation is truly the best I have tried (many) . It’s light, creamy and sits very well without any caking or patchiness. Absolutely top marks!”
Some were less impressed, with one writing: “Wanted to really love this, especially as it was so expensive. It’s nice but I’m not sure it’s as good as the hype. The bottle is tiny so you end up being really sparingly with it which I think in turn makes it not last all day. If this was half the price I would hands down recommend but I am not sure it is worth the money.”
Whilst another added: “Lovely coverage and light but I broke out after use… tried it over a few weeks and would break out every time. It’s not great for oily skin at all unfortunately.”
However, others loved The Foundation Drops, stating: “The texture is lightweight, yet it gives a beautifully even complexion and a healthy, natural glow. If you have mature skin and are looking for a foundation that gives a natural look, this is truly an excellent choice.”
If you’re unable to get your hands on your shade, or just can’t quite commit to the £104 price tag, there are some great alternatives to try. One that’s frequently hailed as a close comparison are the Westman Atelier Vital Skincare Complexion Drops which you can pick up for £62. They come in an equally broad shade range, and are packed with active skincare ingredients and high-performing pigments, which look after your skin whilst providing light to medium coverage.
Another good option is the Saie Glowy Super Skin Foundation which is just £35 and comes in 34 shades. You could also snap up the Kylie Cosmetics Skin Tint Blurring Elixir Foundation for £27, which is a great affordable option that provides natural-looking, dewy coverage for a second-skin finish.
