“This is my new favourite perfume. Really gorgeous subtle scent. Long-lasting but not over-powering. Would make a lovely gift. Beautiful bottle. Also like that the bottle is refillable.”

Shoppers are raving over a ‘long-lasting perfume’ that features a unique bottle that would stand out on any dressing table. Zadig by Zadig & Voltaire is an oriental floral fragrance aimed at women with some unusual notes that are proving to be a hit.

Priced from £64 at The Perfume Shop, it opens up rather savoury with notes of sesame, ginger, white pepper and black pepper before delving into a more typical heart of orange blossom and neroli essence. The sweet base of vanilla and Chantilly cream is balanced out with sandalwood.

Zadig was created by Amandine Clerc-Marie and Florian Gallo. Clerc-Marie has worked with huge names in the industry, with her being behind La Nuit Trésor for Lancôme (from £49.99) and Aura Mugler for Mugler (£46.63). Gallo is a Shanghai-based perfumer who has worked on a number of scents from BORNTOSTANDOUT.

Over on Boots, Zadig has pulled in an average rating of 4.6 out of five from over 100 reviews. One shopper said: “Can’t get enough of this perfume!! Wouldn’t have been my usual go to as I usually like something more floral, but I absolutely love this as a change!! Just need a bigger bottle at the rate I’m using it! Had so many compliments too!”

A second penned: “This is my new favourite perfume. Really gorgeous subtle scent. Long-lasting but not over-powering. Would make a lovely gift. Beautiful bottle. Also like that the bottle is refillable.”

A third said: “Gorgeous vanilla spicy scent that’s so good my ex couldn’t keep himself away from me! Only downside is it attracted my ex and not a new man!!”

One shopper was left disappointed by the longevity, saying: “Fragrance is really pleasant but I was expecting more from a fragrance of this price. The fragrance didn’t last as long as I was expecting or as strong as I thought it would be from the off for an EDP.”

It’s worth noting that the impact of perfume can be dependant on the application. It’s best to apply perfume directly to clean and freshly moisturised skin after washing. A minimum of one spritz per pulse point would be best and it’s important to allow the perfume to dry on the skin without rubbing it.

Zadig by Zadig & Voltaire is available from £64 on The Perfume Shop and Boots.
