West Yorkshire Police have today released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a report of rape at a hotel in Sheffield earlier this year
A woman was allegedly raped in a hotel by a stranger, police have said.
The alleged crime happened at a hotel room in St Mary’s Gate, Sheffield, at around 4am on January 1. West Yorkshire Police said they have been conducting enquiries since the incident was reported.
However, today they released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident, as they believe he could help the police investigation. The man in question is described as 5ft 10ins tall. At the time the CCTV image was taken, he was slim and had short black hair, the force said.
He also had a stubbly beard and a slit in one of his eyebrows, the police added. Anyone with information has been asked to get in touch with West Yorkshire Police.
The force said in a statement: “We are releasing a CCTV image of a man we would like to speak to in connection with a report of rape in Sheffield. Around 4am on 1 January, a woman reported being raped by a man not known to her in a room at a hotel in St Mary’s Gate.
