Sharon Owen bought the red purse for 50p at her local charity shop for her daughter and is now determined to find the original owner after finding something “sentimental” inside
A woman discovered the ideal 50p purse in a charity shop to give her daughter for school. But she never anticipated finding something of such “sentimental” significance hidden within.
The 53 year old mum had made the journey from her Bangor home to browse Koala North West Charity Shop in Claughton Village on Tuesday (February 3), where she snapped up a stunning red Julian Macdonald purse for a mere 50p.
Tucked inside was what appeared to be an old passport photograph of a “handsome” gentleman. Believing the photo must hold sentimental worth, Sharon is now reaching out to the public for assistance in returning it to its rightful owner.

Sharon, who has recently lost her dad, explained: “As soon as I saw the photo I thought it must have some form of sentimental value.
“He must be someone’s husband or father and after losing my father myself I would love to get the photo back to the owner.
“There’s nothing written on the back of it. It’s a lovely photo, he is a handsome chap and I know if it was my dad I would be so happy to have the photo back – you don’t have many photos like this of people these days.
“Seeing it pulled on my heart strings a little bit”, reports the Liverpool Echo.
Sharon came across the picture concealed in one of the purse’s pockets. She remarked: “My daughter is going to school and needed a big purse. For 50p I thought it was ideal, it’s perfect.
“We like to shop at Koala North in Claughton Village because it’s a really good shop.
“The photo was tucked away inside one of the little compartments inside the purse, I just happened to see it in there.”
