You never know what treasures you’re going to find in a charity shop – as one lucky woman found out when she was thrifting recently. She had a Carrie Bradshaw moment!
When a woman bought a pair of high heels in a charity shop, she never expected them to be so valuable.
Bella Day had been shopping at a Savers thrift store when she stumbled across the bargain footwear. They were labelled with Manolo Blahnik, which is a designer name she recognised from watching Sex and the City.
So, wanting to have her own Carrie Bradshaw moment, she decided to snap up the heels for $9 (around £6.50). The decision proved to be a good one – as she was able to sell the Manolos off for a huge profit.
However, Bella didn’t feel as confident about pulling them off as Sarah Jessica Parker did!
The 25-year-old server, from Massachusetts, said she had “nowhere to wear” the shoes. So to prevent them going to waste, Bella flogged them for $200 on Facebook.
When the thrift shopper posted about her incredible find on TikTok, people were seriously impressed. The video has garnered more than 1.4million views and 154,000 likes in a matter of weeks.
One commenter gushed: “Babe this is the find of a lifetime.” Another said: “I’m so happy for you.” And a third wrote: “Please give them to me.”
Meanwhile, a fourth joked: “RIP Carrie Bradshaw. She would’ve loved this!”
Even though people were desperate to get their hands on the heels, they have already been sold to a lucky fashion fan.
The new owner of the designer footwear is from New York – so she hopes they’ll now be strutting their stuff in the Big Apple just like Carrie does in the show.
In Sex and the City, Sarah Jessica Parker’s character is utterly obsessed with the luxury shoes.
In one famous scene, the character pleads: “Please, sir, you can take my Fendi baguette, you can take my ring and my watch, but please don’t take my Manolo Blahniks!”
As well as this, the iconic blue satin “Hangisi” pumps became especially famous after Mr. Big used them to propose to Carrie in the first film.
