A woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed to death inside a flat. Merseyside Police attended reports of an incident inside a block of flats on Sherlock Avenue in Haydock at around 10.25pm yesterday.
When officers attended the scene along with the North West Ambulance Service they found a man with stab injuries. A spokesperson for the force has since confirmed the man, in his 30s, has since died of his injuries.
Merseyside Police told Liverpool Echo this morning that a 39-year-old woman from Billinge has been arrested on suspicion of murder. She remains in police custody to be questioned.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We are in the early stages of investigating the incident and our enquiries are ongoing.”
The road is cordoned off and forensics officers and detectives are working at the scene.
