An option for tech shoppers on a budget
It’s easy to spend a lot of money on earphones, but there’s something to be said for low-cost models. Whether it’s a back-up to throw in a bag, something cheap and cheerful for working out, or a thoughtful stocking filler this Christmas.
Amazon is running a limited-time deal on some Cillso H97 wireless earbuds, which have been slashed to £20.99 from £129.99 until December 20 while stocks last. These lightweight earphones weigh just 4g each, but deliver punchy bass.
The H97 earbuds are long-lasting and can deliver up to seven hours’ playtime on a single charge, extended to 40 hours by the accompanying carry case.

Ideal for workouts and all-weather listening, the H97 earbuds are IPX7 waterproof, which means they can survive being submerged in one metre of water for up to 10 minutes, the site says. For calls, the earbuds have environmental noise cancellation to filter out background sounds, delivering a clear signal to whoever’s on the other end of the phone.
Alternatively, shoppers can save £40 on the JBL Tune Beam 2 wireless noise-cancelling earbuds at Currys, where they currently cost £39.99, down from £79.99. This model features active noise cancellation (ANC), which blocks out background noise for more focused or quieter listening.

A cheaper option is the JLab GO Air Pop in-ear wireless earbuds, which are £14.99, down from £24.99, at Argos. According to the brand, each earbud lasts eight hours on a single charge with an extra 24 hours provided by the charging case.
Back to the Cillso H97 wireless earbuds, they currently hold an impressive 4.9 out of five rating on the Amazon website. One buyer shared their thoughts: “Excellent value and great sound, much better than a pair that costs ten times as much.”
As part of a longer review, another shopper said: “Love these, especially the colour! Such a nice change to the boring white ones that are everywhere.
“I use these when I walk the dogs, and they are really secure in my ears – no fear of them falling out when I’m walking. Super simple to set up on first use and, once connected, you can just put them in and go.”
Another said: “I bought these headphones for my husband and he loves them. They’re comfortable, have great sound, and they have a long battery life. They’re good value for money, and the quality of the headphones is great.”
One gave feedback, saying: “The sound is okay, but they hurt my ears after a little while. I love the colour, though.”
Another compared them to Apple AirPods, saying: “The sound is very clear and has great volume. Do AirPods sound better? Yeah, they’ve got more bass response and more clarity in the high end, but they are also five times more expensive.”
