‘I have always loved a nice wine but supermarkets were hit and miss until I stumbled across Naked about 10 years ago. Since then I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad bottle.’
Writer and wine lover Jada Jones says she has spent countless hours studying wine, so many in fact, she has completed three formal qualifications, and proudly has the certificates and pin badges to show it. With a varied palate and the opportunity to sample an impressive range of bottles, she explains that she has tried numerous wine subscriptions and advent calendars over the years.
Although Jada hasn’t yet tried the Naked Wines subscription itself, she has previously enjoyed the brand’s Wine Advent Calendar. She describes it as a “godsend” during her Level Three WSET studies, as it offered a wide selection of wines that allowed her to practise tasting techniques.
Now, just in time for Valentine’s Day, Naked Wines has launched a new deal, £75 off a shopper’s first case. Each case contains £144.99 worth of what the company calls “world-class wines,” amounting to 12 bottles in total.
The discount reduces the cost to £69.99, matching Naked Wines’ typical 6-bottle case price, effectively gifting newcomers half a dozen complimentary bottles. With the reduction applied, each bottle costs just £5.83, and considering the wine’s calibre, even the most wallet-friendly supermarkets would struggle to compete.
Naked Wines operates through a sales approach that eliminates intermediaries, ensuring ‘world-class’ wines from independent producers remain far more attainable and budget-friendly for those seeking a touch of luxury. Highlighting the benefits of this approach, Naked Wines explained: “By cutting out the middlemen, we give customers access to incredible wines at up to 33% less than typical retail prices, all while make sure our winemakers get paid what they deserve.”

New Customers can bag £75 off their first order
Jada explained that: “Subscribers to Naked Wines, dubbed Angels, pay £25 monthly into a wine account which they can use towards future purchases. This flexibility allows them to order as frequently as desired, either opting for a handpicked case recommended by Naked Wines or simply choosing whichever bottles catch their eye.
“Should an Angel be disappointed with a wine, there’s no worry – simply inform Naked Wine and they’ll provide a credit that can be redeemed for a replacement bottle.”
There are other wine subscriptions on the market of course, I’ve always been a fan of Virgin Wines which has a massive selection of cases up for grabs. It was actually Virgin Wines that introduced me to Gruner Veltliner which is now one of my favourite white wines.
Good Pair Days is a good option for those who don’t have the storage space for 12 bottles of wine, although there’s quite a fluctuation in the price of the wines available with that option.
Naked Wines is clear a hit amongst wine fans, with it having an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 from over 13,000 reviews on Trustpilot. One subscriber said: “I have been a customer of Naked Wines since February 2021. I can honestly say that it has completely changed the way in which I buy wine. I used to regularly by my wine from supermarkets, and thought the products were fairly decent.
“How wrong was I, I now exclusively buy all of my wine from Naked Wines. They offer a very large choice of wines, suited to your particular wine profile. However, I now have my firm favourites that I buy regularly and am very pleased with. I recently had a small issue which was swiftly and professionally resolved by Stanley, thank you! I am just about to place another order today.”
Another shopper said: “I have always loved a nice wine but supermarkets were hit and miss until I stumbled across Naked about 10 years ago. Since then I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad bottle. Of course some are nicer than others but with so many wines and great stories from individual winemakers every order is an adventure.”
Some shoppers were disappointed in the wines they received and that they had joined as an Angel in buying their first order. One shopper said: “I didn’t like all the wines so cancelled my membership which they have acknowledged but this morning they have taken £25 from my bank account. I am glad to say it has now been refunded.”
It is worth keeping in mind that Angels are allowed to leave at any time but it would be advisable to do this before being charged the monthly £25 contribution.
It’s clear a lot of Angels are happy with the £25 monthly payment. Another wrote: “I feel compelled to share my experience because I’ve been a Naked Wines Angel for many years now, and it has completely transformed how I buy and enjoy wine.
“Before discovering Naked Wines, buying wine was a bit of a lottery. You’d pick a bottle based on a fancy label or a score you didn’t quite understand, cross your fingers, and often end up with something just “okay.” Becoming an Angel changed all of that. The model is genius. My monthly subscription directly funds talented, independent winemakers, and in return, I get access to their incredible wines at prices that shame the high street. But the real value isn’t just in the savings—it’s in the quality and the connection.”
