The internet has become ‘obsessed’ with a simple TikTok video of a woman working in a fish and chip shop serving a customer – as they all call her a ‘diva’ and ‘iconic’

TikTok wouldn’t be the same without a new internet icon popping up daily – and most recently, people have been loving this ‘diva’ who works in a chippy.

Destiny Harold, also known as the fish and chip shop diva, has become the latest TikTok sensation, and the internet is obsessed with her. The 20-year-old, who works at Merchant’s Fish and Chips in Bewdley, Worcestershire, has been called a ‘diva’ and ‘iconic’ by TikTokers as she pretended to serve a customer in a video posted to the chippy’s TikTok account @ merchants_fishandchips. While it was a pretty simple video of Destiny serving the customer, people were amazed at how polite she was and her sales tactics.

Destiny, who has worked at the chip shop since she was 16 took the order, gave the customer his battered haddock and shared the drink options for his order. While it was a pretty innocent video, people lapped up her sales tricks and praised her on her manners. Many noting how she repeatedly said please and thank you to the customer and her friendly goodbye at the end as she said: “Have a nice day”. “Never hear such politeness and niceness in the United States,” one fan commented, while another chimed: “She sounds so nice and humble.” A third said: “I need to know who this diva is”.

While the interaction was just Destiny serving the man, it has been viewed over 25 million times and has nearly two million likes. Another fan commented: “I really like this girl. She is so calm and sounds nice. I just don’t understand why she just couldn’t tell him what drinks they had instead of taking them all out. But a good sales rep!”

Destiny has since become a viral star, with many saying they are ‘obsessed’ with her, watching clips of her at work, and one fan even gushed: “I hope this diva is on I’m a Celebrity this year.” In true TikTok form, people have jumped on the bandwagon, and have attempted to recreate the Merchant’s viral video, including TikToker @luciablayke who had over two million views on her skit, and also @_stevenrivers who called Destiny ‘the moment’.

Since posting the video, Merchants chip shop have posted a string of videos with Destiny, which have all racked up millions of views on each. Another TikTok fan commented: “This is the most polite video I’ve seen on TikTok,” and another added: “She is cute very polite and very professional.”
