The Met Police said in a statement that officers are seeking witnesses and any CCTV or dashcam footage following an assault on Westminster Bridge that left a man critically ill
Police have issued an urgent appeal for witnesses following an incident on Westminster Bridge in which a man suffered a heart attack.
The Met Police confirmed today that the service attended reports of a fight in southwest London at around 10.43am, with officers attending the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance. The services arrived to find a man in cardiac arrest.
Initial reports from the scene suggested the man had been stabbed, but further enquiries have confirmed this is not the case. Investigations are ongoing to determine how he came to suffer a cardiac arrest. The man was rushed to hospital following the incident, where he remains in critical condition.
Three people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and one person has been arrested on suspicion of affray. Two of those arrested have been taken to hospital with head injuries. The Met said in a statement this afternoon that investigators are “particularly keen” to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident.
Officers are also urging anyone with CCTV, mobile phone footage, or dashcam footage that may assist the investigation to come forward. Anyone who has information or footage relating to the incident has been asked to contact police on the 101 non-emergency number and quote the reference CAD 2468/24NOV.
