Malvika Hada Kumar shared her favourite Onion Chutney recipe and it goes amazingly well with dosa, idli or even rice.

-1 tbsp of oil -3-4 garlic cloves -12-15 shallots, peeled -4-5 Kashmiri dry red chillies chillies -Small piece of tamarind -1 sprig of curry leaves -1/2 cup of coriander leaves For tempering - -1 tsp of oil -1/2 tsp of mustard seeds -1/4 cup of urad dal -1 sprig curry leaves -1 dry red chilli

Add a little oil to the pan and roast your sambar onion and garlic cloves in it.

Then, add tamarind, coriander, dry chillies and curry leaves to this mixture and keep stirring. Later, keep it aside to cool.

Then, grind dried red chillies using a mortar and pestle to form a fine paste.

Add a little water to the fine red chilli paste and then add the roasted ingredients. Then, grind everything using a mortar and pestle or even blender.

Finally, top the chutney with a tadka made of mustard seeds, urad dal, curry leaves and dried red chilli. Your Onion Chutney is ready!
