Seven cars were found under water outside the boozer as ‘high tides’ hit

Hapless drivers found their cars submerged in water after parking them near pubs. Motorists left their motors too close to a tidal part of the River Thames.

Seven cars were found under water outside the Barmy Arms boozer. They included a BMW, a BMW and a Honda.

A Toyota Aygo was also half submerged. A BMW was seen with water in the driver footwell and grubby seats.

A spokesperson for the Barmy Arms, in Twickenham, south London said: “This is the devastation of a car from the high tide.

“Do not park on The Embankment or the surrounding area. We are in high tide season folks.

“Do be cautious when parking.” It was a similar situation in Richmond outside The White Cross pub on Sunday (7 Dec) at 4pm, as reported on What’s The Jam.

A red car outside the venue was half under water and a wheelie bin was on its side. Local Anneliese Hesse said: “This is how and where my last car died.”

Alex Lovett-Turner added: “Oops.” Samantha Kay said: “Oh dear.” Najoud said: “My goodness, hope no one got hurt or stuck.”
