Chelsea can go one step closer to silverware on Tuesday as Enzo Maresca’s men face Brazilian side Fluminense in New Jersey
Chelsea can book their place in the FIFA Club World Cup final today (July 8) should they win their hotly-anticipated semi-final clash. Enzo Maresca’s side are two games away from a second piece of silverware following their UEFA Conference League win at the end of the season.
They have largely been in solid form throughout the competition and secured their spot in the penultimate round with a 2-1 win against Palmeiras. Their opponent tonight is Fluminense FC, who play in the Brazilian Série A, who also enjoyed a 2-1 win in their quarter-final against Al Hilal.
The two sides will now meet at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium to fight for their place in Sunday’s final against Paris Saint-Germain or Real Madrid. Chelsea are aiming to lift the trophy for the second time following their 2021 triumph under Thomas Tuchel, while Fluminense could reach a second successive final.

Chelsea will go up against a familiar face tonight in former Blue Thiago Silva, who left London to return to his home club last year. Maresca will likely make some changes from the previous fixture with Liam Delap and Levi Colwill banned after picking up yellow cards against Palmeiras and Moises Caicedo now available after his own suspension.
Cole Palmer scored for only the second time in 28 games in the previous fixture and will no doubt be aiming to get on the score sheet tonight. Both sides are in for a gruelling night though, with temperatures of 35C expected in New Jersey.
