The ‘beautiful’ bedding sets are available in eight different colours
Dunelm is currently offering a ‘very nice’ double duvet set for less than half the cost of a similar version from John Lewis. Dunelm is popular with many customers thanks to its budget-friendly and attractive furniture, décor, homewares and beyond.
The store is receiving rave reviews of its Portloe Woven Gingham 100% Cotton Duvet Cover & Pillowcase Set, priced at £36 for double size, which is available in green, alongside seven additional colours. Dunelm says the bedding features “extra softness and a natural soft laundered finish” with “sumptuously soft fabric with a linen-look aesthetic”.
The retailer adds that the set “combines luxurious comfort with a nostalgic, yet chic style”. Every set comes with matching pillowcase(s), features button closure, “is naturally soft, breathable and comfortably smooth” and is suitable for all seasons.
The bedding collection boasts an average score of 4.5 out of a maximum five stars on the Dunelm platform. Writing an enthusiastic review, one customer said: “Beautifully soft cotton fabric, washes well with no ironing needed. Great price, good quality.”
Another wrote: “Great quality bedding. Really soft and comfy. Great value. Great colour. Great service Dunelm. What’s not to like?! Would definitely recommend”. A third said: “Very nice cover, feels so soft and looks great on bed”.
Though a tiny proportion of customers posted one-star feedback, claiming the fabric wrinkles after washing. Elsewhere, John Lewis is offering a duvet set that bears a striking resemblance to this one, retailing at £75 for a double.
Its own brand Gingham Duvet Cover Set also comes in green, with four other colours to choose from. On its website, John Lewis said: “You can’t beat a classic check for a fresh and pretty bedroom look.
“This bedding is made from cotton fabric which is naturally breathable, helping keep you cool and comfortable throughout the night.” This set boasts an average rating of 4.4 out of a possible five stars.
One happy customer wrote: “Beautiful classic gingham and the colour is so lovely and fresh but also slightly muted. 100% cotton and the pillowcases have nice piping style along the outside. Really rate this product and it added a nice fresh touch to the room.”
Another added: “Great quality as usual from John Lewis. The bedding is so soft! Lovely colour.” A third wrote: “Lovely to look at and the quality feels really good. Would highly recommend.”
There are a handful of one-star reviews, with these customers expressing disappointment over the quality not meeting their expectations. Both duvet sets are available in a variety of bed sizes.
