‘Completely changed my workout routine with this’
With the first week of the New Year officially done, many will still be searching for ways to improve their lifestyles. One device that shoppers might not have considered is a walking pad – and thankfully, they don’t take up too much space at home.
The Merach Under Desk Treadmill is currently available from Amazon for £85.49 for the standard version, reduced from £109.99 in a limited-time deal. This is an Amazon’s Choice product and more than 800 have been bought in the past month, the site says.
The brand says users can ‘enjoy effortless portability and space-saving, desk-friendly storage’, as this device can fit under desks with its compact dimensions of 43.1″ x 18.5″ x 4.5″. The treadmill is described as being ideal for home offices or small spaces.

The treadmill features an aerospace-grade alloy frame that supports up to 265lbs capacity while weighing 28lbs itself, the site says. Plus, it says it has shock-absorbing technology and can deliver speeds from 2-6km/h for walking or light jogging.
If shoppers are worried about noise, this device operates at a 50-decibel (dB) noise level. Users can also sync with the Merach Fitness App to access coach-designed programs, track real-time metrics, and enjoy interactive fitness games.

For those with more space and a higher budget, there’s also this Decathlon Run500 Smart Folding Treadmill with Touchscreen from Argos, priced at £600, reduced by £100 from £700. Users can run at speeds up to 16km/h and enjoy a motorised incline of 10% for a dynamic workout, the site says, and it can connect to fitness apps and be folded away for easy storage.
Back to the Merach Under Desk Treadmill, shoppers have written positive comments on Amazon, leaving an average 4.3 out of five stars. One said: “Love my walking pad – easy to move around and perfect for getting your steps in on your WFH days. Completely changed my workout routine with this. Speed can go quite fast if you can handle it and the remote control works as excepted and easy to change settings with it. Quality seems good and hoping this will last a good few years.”
A second said: “Very easy to set up and use. Whilst I’ve only used it for a few days, it such an easy way to get exercise.” While a third wrote: “Really good basic walking treadmill. Quiet in use, simple to use, and easy to store away.”
Others left some feedback for the device. This shopper said as part of a longer review: “My only niggle is the lack of wheels at one end to help move it as you need to lift it to move – not a problem as it has a permanent position, but if you did want to use it, then put it away it’s heavy to move. Other than that I can’t fault it, especially for the price.”
Another said: “The walking pad itself is really good, very sturdy and the remote control is really handy. I cannot review the app side of the walking pad as I have not connected to it yet.”
