Weather maps from WXCharts show snow sweeping across the UK from March 15, with up to 24cm forecast for Scotland and the Met Office issuing yellow warnings for affected areas
Britain faces a fresh onslaught of snow within days, according to the latest weather maps, as bitter wintry conditions stage an unwanted comeback across the nation.
Come Sunday and Monday (March 15 and March 16), swathes of the UK – stretching from Scotland down to the Midlands – look set to be battered by snowfall, based on recent projections from WXCharts. Scotland’s north and northwest could bear the brunt with up to 24cm of snow as blizzards sweep across the region.
Down in England, the North West appears vulnerable too, particularly around Newcastle, Manchester, Blackpool, and Stoke-on-Trent. Weather maps indicate these locations could see 2-3cm of the white stuff.

Northern Ireland won’t escape the incoming snow blizzards either, with precipitation forecast at 10mm per hour on Sunday. This follows the Met Office rolling out fresh yellow snow warnings for parts of the UK on Friday.
The weather warning states: “Blustery wintry showers will affect central and northwest Scotland during Thursday afternoon and evening but are expected to become more frequent during the second half of the night before easing on Friday morning. 2-5 cm of snow is expected fairly widely across the area, with 10 cm possible in places above about 350 metres.”
The Met Office’s outlook spanning March 12-16 cautions of extensive frost initially, before giving way to sunshine and sporadic showers, with “some wintry”. *** Make sure our latest news headlines always top your Google Search by setting us as a Preferred Source.
