Both Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua are finally expected to meet in the ring in November after over 10 years of trading verbal jabs
Tyson Fury’s mouth-watering showdown with Anthony Joshua WILL take place in the UK – and will NOT be promoted by Dana White’s Zuffa Boxing.
That is according to Matchroom Chief Eddie Hearn, amid concerns that the fight would take place in America. Fury ended his year-long retirement back in April and cruised to a points victory over Arslanbek Makhmudov in front of over 60,000 fans at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – with Joshua watching ringside.
Just days later, both Fury and Joshua finally agreed to a fight – with their all-British dust-up expected to take place in November. ‘AJ’ must first come away from his warm-up fight with Kristian Prenga on July 25 unscathed, while Fury is also expected to have one more bout.
There were fears that Joshua’s clash with Fury would land in the US as reports stated that both the SiFO Stadium in Los Angeles and Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena were explored as potential venues. On top of that, White recently revealed that Hearn will have no hand in negotiating the contracts for the fight, and claimed he knows exactly where the contest will take place.

“Call Eddie right now and ask him where the fight is,” White said at the news conference. “Call Eddie and ask who negotiated the contract for the fight. It wasn’t him.” On Thursday, Hearn brutally hit back at his rival, rubbishing claims that the UFC supremo will be the main promoter for the clash.
“His boxing business is so dead that he’s trying to find a way to be relevant and part of the biggest fight in boxing, which is Joshua vs. Fury,” Hearn told ESPN. “I negotiated the fight contract three months with SELA and Turki Alalshikh. Dana White has no clue what is in that contract. No. 1, Dana White, TKO, Zuffa can have no promotional involvement in that show at all. He also doesn’t know about the other clause that was put in the contract that says Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury must take place in the UK.”
While an official date or venue is yet to be confirmed, the UK’s Wembley Stadium in north London is expected to host the domestic-up clash between Joshua and Fury – with Hearn revealing that it will take place in November. The two icons could meet more than once, as it has been reported that the first fight with be broadcast live on Netflix, with the sequel streamed on DAZN.
As of yet, White has not responded to Hearn’s recent remarks. The boxing promoters have been at each other’s throats these past few months as their relationship has taken a dramatic turn for the worse. The pair have engaged in several verbal wars of words ever since White made his move into the world of boxing with Zuffa.
Their feud got to the point where they were even challenging each other to a fight – but White was accused of turning down the chance to settle their rivalry in the ring. Several fighters have weighed in and offered their verdict on the ongoing clashes between the two boxing giants.
Fury recently stated he’d be willing to officiate the clash, and is siding with White amid their ongoing feud. “All this beef going on with Eddie Hearn and Dana White. I am backing Dana all the way. Dana to knock his face right in. The posh git. And if you want, I will be the referee of the fight. GK all day. Everyday. Let’s go. Boom!” he said in a video uploaded to his Instagram story.
