The two horses who bolted and ran loose in London on Wednesday are in a serious condition a minister has said.

Defence minister James Cartlidge told Sky News: “There were five horses. They have all been recovered. Three of them are fine, two of them are unfortunately in a relatively serious condition and obviously we will be monitoring that condition.”
He added: “They are in a serious condition, but as I understand, still alive.”

The minister confirmed the two horses are named Vida and Quaker.

Baffled bystanders were stunned after seven horses raced through the capital, with one being seen covered in blood. Ambulance crews treated four people in three different incidents within 10 minutes of each other after the animals ran amok.

The shocking sight led people to question how they ended up running around the streets of London, it was later learned they had escaped during a military exercise by the Household Cavalry.
