Making a hearty bowl of warm soup this winter has never been easier, or cheaper, thanks to this Morphy Richards soup maker which has been slashed in price on Amazon
With a cold snap sweeping across the UK, it’s officially soup season. Warming and filling, soup is a great option if you’re wanting a cosy winter meal, and if you make it yourself with a soup maker it’s a really healthy choice.
We tried the Morphy Richards 4822 Soup Maker and after putting it to the test, found it made a delicious bowl of soup to rival the likes of Heinz, with very little effort. Now, the Morphy Richards 4822 Soup Maker has been reduced in price on Amazon from £99.99 to £70.89, so you can make even more savings at meal times.
This handy gadget is essentially a blender that incorporates a heating element in the base to soften any ingredients added, and then chops them up to a soup consistency. There are four different modes, so you can choose whether you want your soup to be smooth or chunky and while we made tomato soup, there is an endless amount of recipes that could be tried.
The soup maker is fairly small in size, making it easy to slot onto a kitchen side or store in a cupboard, and it has a timer to let you know when your soup is good to eat. We found a meal could be made from start to finish in under 30 minutes, and as you know exactly what ingredients are being added, it’s a much healthier option than a tinned variety.
It’s racked up over 8,500 five-star reviews on Amazon, with shoppers who say it is “a kitchen game-changer for those with busy lives”, and ideal for those who are “health-conscious.”
One user said: “Fresh homemade, healthy soup in 21 minutes. What more could you ask for? I’ve never liked tinned soup, especially tomato but after making it in the soup maker it’s now my favourite and so easy to make and it’s only four ingredients!”
Another happy customer explained that they wish they’d got one sooner, commenting: “Did not realise how quickly I could make the most delicious soup in such a short time! Far better than tinned shop brought soups and a fraction of the price per serving. Brilliant machine.”
A third user mentioned that it has helped them cut down of food waste, saying: “This has helped me cut down of food and veg waste because as soon as any leftover veg is starting to go off I chuck it all in the soup maker and have it for a quick lunch. It’s easy to portion out and freeze for future too.”
It’s very easy to clean, however it has been noted that you shouldn’t let it sit with leftovers in and should rinse straight away after using. For a cheaper alternative, Robert Dyas stock the Salter EK5118 Soup Maker for £44.99, which claims to save 65% off your energy bills in comparison to using an electric hob.
Morphy Richards also have this Compact Soup Maker, reduced to £44 on Amazon. It’s a smaller version, holding 1litre of liquid, making it ideal for a smaller household.
