Get rid of stubborn grease from your kitchen cupboards ‘immediately’ with this cheap holy grail loved by fans of Mrs Hinch. It’s a life-saver for those tougher jobs that vinegar can’t tackle
Vinegar is a great natural cleaner, but some jobs call for something much tougher.
While you are cooking away in the kitchen, you probably don’t realise how much grease and grime is building on your cupboards. Even if you have the extractor fan on or the window open, dirt and oil will quickly spoil your cabinets – leaving them sticky to the touch. Luckily, fans of cleaning ace Mrs Hinch have found a holy grail item that costs just £1.25 and melts grease away ‘immediately’. It’s a great alternative to when those more gentle products don’t quite do the job…
Taking to the popular Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips Facebook page, which has more than 490,000 followers, one woman was desperate for advice. “My cupboards, I’m embarrassed to say, are really grubby with grease,” she said. “[I] have tried spraying with white vinegar and then hot soapy water… Any other ideas please?”
Hundreds of cleaning addicts flocked to the comments section to share their recommendations – with Elbow Grease being a clear winner. The cult favourite brand’s all-purpose degreaser can be picked up from most supermarkets or general stores. Asda is currently selling a 500ml bottle for £1.25.
“I use elbow grease, [it] works right away,” raved one user. Another agreed, commenting: “Try Elbow Grease spray. It’s brilliant and smells lovely too. Cuts through grease immediately.” A third added: “I use Elbow Grease, it’s brilliant on so many things,” while a fourth branded the product ‘very good’. To try the hack out, spray Elbow Grease onto a clean cloth and wipe the dirty area. For tougher cleans, spray the product directly onto the surface, leave for a couple of minutes, then wipe off with a clean cloth – repeating if necessary.
