Apple’s iPhone 17 range and the Samsung Galaxy S25 are among the smartphones on sale with huge price and freebies.

As we enter the final week of January, mobile retailers are throwing new deals and discounts at shoppers. Scouring the countless websites to find the best deal can be a minefield, so we’ve pulled together a handful of our favourite deals on Apple and Samsung phones.

There are five standout deals from Sky Mobile, Mobiles.co.uk, giffaff and Amazon, and there’s plenty of price cuts and giveaways up for grabs. Apple fans can get the new Air model for less than £35, while Samsung shoppers can get a free Galaxy Watch and £300 cashback.

There’s also £100 off select iPhones at Amazon for those preferring to buy outright. Meanwhile, Sky Mobile is undercutting its major rivals but the deals won’t suit people who love being glued to their phone.

With that, here are five of the best Apple and Samsung deals.

Giffgaff customers can get the new iPhone Air for £34.89 per month and £37 upfront on a 36-month plan with 50GB data.

Apple’s thinnest-ever iPhone only came out in September as part of the iPhone 17 series but it’s already much more affordable than at launch. One deal that caught our eye is at giffgaff, where there’s £220 off the iPhone Air.

The 256GB model now costs £34.89 per month and £37 upfront on a 36-month deal with a 50GB data allowance. However, heavier users may want to consider other options, including 100GB for an extra £3 or unlimited for an extra £10.

It’s worth noting that this package is split into two elements: the handset comes on a 36-month payment plan with Klarna, while the data plan is on an 18-month contract.

Free Galaxy Watch and £300 cashback

Samsung shoppers can bag a free bundle worth £569 when ordering the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra at Sky Mobile. Until January 28, customers ordering the powerful Galaxy device will also receive a free Samsung Galaxy Watch8 worth £319 and £250 to spend in the Samsung Wallet.

All this comes at a cost, though, as the S25 Ultra is the most pricey option in this round-up. It’s available for £43 per month and £12 upfront, but this package only comes with a small 100MB data allowance.

Most people will burn through that in a matter of minutes, so consider upgrading to a larger plan, such as 50GB for £10 per month for the first six months.

Up to £250 cashback on Samsung Galaxy S25

Currys-back site Mobiles.co.uk is one of our favourite retailers for deals and giveaways and it’s also cashback on select Samsung Galaxy phones. Until January 29, shoppers ordering the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge can claim £250 to spend in the Samsung Wallet.

The phone comes on Vodafone’s 24-month 100GB tariff for £37 per month and £80 upfront, 24m contract. A similar deal is up for grabs with the standard Samsung Galaxy S25, available on iD Mobile’s 100GB 24-month tariff for £24.99 per month and £29 upfront, 24m contract.

A caveat here is that both Vodafone and iD Mobile raise their prices by £2.50 each year, so shoppers should factor that in when signing up.

Sky Mobile for low data users

Many of Sky Mobile’s 36-month phone contracts are cheaper than rivals like EE, Vodafone and O2. These include the iPhone 17 for £25, iPhone 17 Pro for £34 and Samsung Galaxy S25 for £20.

A catch is that Sky’s contracts only come with a 100MB data allowance included in the base price. This is only enough for around 10minutes of video streaming, so it’s nowhere near enough for most people.

However, it’s ideal for low users or those mainly using their phone when connected to WiFi – such as at home or work. Sky offers larger data allowances at extra cost, ranging from 1GB for £5 to unlimited for £22.

Save by buying outright

Usually, buying a phone outright is the most cost-effective option compared to a monthly contract. It does mean forking out the full cost of the phone, but there are some hefty discounts at sites like Amazon.

The retailer has knocked £100 off both the iPhone 16 (£599) and its iPhone 16e (£499), undercutting the cost of Apple’s own store. The only problem with buying outright is that a SIM-only plan is needed for calls, texts and data, so users will need to use their existing SIM or sign up for a new plan such as Sky’s 50GB for £10 per month for the first six months deal.
