This easy-to-use baby car seat impressed our shopping team’s mum-to-be recently – and it currently has 20% off as part of an early Black Friday sale

Soon to be a mum for the first time, I’m currently starting to research and stock up on all the essentials we’ll need for when the baby arrives (a lot, it turns out), and one of the first and most important things we need to have sorted is a car seat. With so much choice on the market, though, it can be hard to know which one to buy, but this one is at the top of our list – and, even better, it’s currently on sale.

At a recent John Lewis nursery advisory appointment, we were really impressed by the Maxi-Cosi Pebble 360 Pro2 car seat for a number of reasons: its sliding and rotating motions for easily securing the baby in the car, it’s compatible with a lot of other makes of buggy, and it had the option to lie the baby flat while in the car.

Available in three colours, the Pebble 360 Pro2 usually costs £259.99 but is currently reduced by 20% down to £207.99 as part of the brand’s month of Black Friday sales.

Other features include air flow technology for temperature control, an easy-in harness and side impact protection, and is suitable from birth (including premature babies) up to approximately 18 months old.

Like modern car seats, to attach the Maxi-Cosi Pebble 360 Pro2 to your car’s back seat you’ll also need to buy the isofix FamilyFix 360 Pro base, which is also now reduced: £175.99 instead of £219.99.

And I’m not the only person who has been impressed by this car seat, as it has also got dozens of five start reviews online.

“This car seat is excellent, it is used for my new granddaughter who was very premature so still very small when she came home from hospital,” one shopper wrote. “The additional new born insert is excellent. Easy to use.”

“We’re really happy with the PEBBLE 360 PRO 2 in Twillic Graphite — it looks great in our car, and the sleek grey colour is a nice touch,” another review reads. “Our baby seems super comfortable and is always happy to sit in it, which makes journeys much easier. It’s well-designed, easy to use, and gives us real peace of mind.”

“Great product, functional and high quality. Makes life much easier! No more back pain in and out the car,” a third person wrote.

One person, however, did comment that they found it quite heavy, writing: “Very good and sturdy – heavy to carry around is the only real downside – I’m a 90KG farmer and my arm was getting tired quick.”

For something lighter, you might want to look at Maxi-Cosi’s Coral 360, £269.99, with its lift-out seat, the Joie Car Seat i-Snug 2 Pebble, £95, or the CYBEX Cloud G i-Size Baby Car Seat, currently £167.86.
