One buyer also branded the luxurious Dunelm duvet ‘easy to iron’

With spring finally arriving, many homeowners are keen to spruce up their homes and give it a fresh feel. A lick of paint does the job but can be costly and time-consuming, but one of the easiest ways to achieve this is with some new bedding.

One set that has been winning a lot of praise of late can be found at home retail giant Dunelm, where its Dorma Smooth and Soft 300 Thread Count Cotton Sateen Duvet Cover has averaged 4.3 stars out of 5 from almost 300 reviews left to date.

The luxurious duvet has been branded “top hotel quality” by one thrilled buyer. The duvet is said to have a “smooth and soft feel” and comes with a 10 year guarantee for added peace of mind.

The duvet comes in standard sizes ranging from single to super king, with the price starting at £36 for the smallest version and rising to £66 for the largest. There’s also a wide range of colours to choose from – 18 in total – so it shouldn’t be hard matching one to a room’s existing scheme.

In a cheaper price range, Debenhams stocks the ‘Avery Stripe’ Pinsonic Soft Touch Duvet Cover set for £30.99, though it’s currently down to £26.80. M&S has a few more luxurious options such as the Pure Cotton Lorelei Floral Bedding Set which is very stylish, though it comes at a premium – £85 to £140.

Speaking of the Dunelm set, one delighted buyer said: “Top hotel quality. Exceptional quality which enables a really super sleep.” Another continued: “Really good quality and lovely deep colour (navy blue). Washes up well. Needs an iron after drying to keep it smooth. Doesn’t look like it will bobble or fade. Worth the price. Has buttons rather than zip or poppers.”

A third went on: “Great quality and feels nice on the skin. Easy to iron.” Despite the overwhelmingly positive feedback, there have been a couple of detractors, including one who pointed out: “Was pleased with the Duvet cover when first put on the bed, but then a bit disappointed as I found it creased very easily. Nice colour.”

Another added: “A little bit disappointed. Colour darker than in the photograph, more red than pink.”
