Three people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was found with serious head and body injuries on Cotterills Lane in Birmingham.

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a bloody overnight attack in Birmingham that left a man with serious injuries to the head and body.

Police were called to Cotterills Lane at around 2am on Sunday morning following reports of people fighting in the street.

Upon arrival, a man with severe injuries and significant blood loss was found seeking shelter at a nearby property, with blood splattered along the paths, up the walls and along nearby car panels.

Two vehicles were recovered from the scene, and three suspects were detained on suspicion of attempted murder.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: ‘Three people are in custody today after a man was seriously injured in Birmingham overnight.

‘We were called to Cotterills Lane shortly after 2am today (7 June) after reports of people fighting in the street. ‘A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his head and body and three people were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. ‘His injuries are thankfully not thought to be life-threatening and all three people arrested remain in custody while our investigation continues. ‘Officers are remaining at the scene throughout today to carry out enquiries and speak to witnesses. ‘We are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area and who may have seen what happened or might have photos or videos showing the incident. ‘If you know more about what happened, call 101 quoting log 377 of 7 June.’
