Research shows parents spend an average of £363.26 on children’s birthday parties – here’s how to save money

Birthday parties can quickly become expensive– something many parents know all too well. In fact, research by Go Compare Money and MyVoucherCodes suggests parents spend an average of £363.26 on children’s birthday parties, once you factor in venues, entertainment, food and decorations.

That’s why this Amazon deal is particularly great for anyone about to host a spring gathering for their little one. The Bestway Fisher-Price Bouncetastic Bouncy Castle is currently on sale for £43.29, down from its usual £74.95 as part of Amazon’s spring sale.

And while it’s far cheaper than hiring one for a party, it still delivers the same backyard excitement kids love.

Designed for children aged three and over, the inflatable castle measures around 175 x 173 x 135cm once inflated, giving little ones plenty of room to jump and bounce around. The castle features soft inflatable sides and mesh panels, making it easier for parents to keep an eye on what’s happening inside.

The idea is simple: inflate it, let the kids burn off some energy, then deflate and pack it away again when playtime is over. Unlike larger commercial inflatables, this one has a single air chamber, meaning it can be inflated relatively quickly and doesn’t take up huge amounts of space when stored.

This ‘massive’ £199 garden storage box now £99 is solving a problem parents know

It’s also suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, so it works just as well in the garden on sunny days as it does in the house during rainy weekends. And with a maximum weight capacity of around 85kg, there’s enough room for a couple of children to bounce together.

One happy shopper pens: “Got this for my boy’s 4th birthday! Him and his friend (the same age) absolutely loved it and had the best day. It’s so easy so assemble with a pump. We’ve put it up just for him and his 11-year-old brother, they’re just about at the weight limit together! Definitely worth the money.”

Another adds: “My grandson turned 2 today and he absolutely LOVES this bounce house!”

A third mentions that it doesn’t come with a pump, so bear that in mind.

Though this castle is perfect for younger kids, if you need one with a larger weight capacity, we suggest looking at Debenhams’ Inflatable Bounce House with Slide & Basketball Hoop, on sale for £330 from £619. It features a sleek, roomy slide trimmed with clear blue, red and yellow, an enclosed play zone bordered by secure mesh panels for safe, carefree bouncing.
